Lady Bisons basketball schedule has a local flavor
The Lipscomb Lady Bisons basketball schedule has a heavy local flavor for 2008-2009. The Lady Bisons will be playing several Ohio Valley Conference teams this season starting with the regular season opener Nov. 15 at Austin Peay in Clarksville, Tenn. This year's Atlantic Sun schedule also returns to a 20-game round robin format. The A-Sun tournament also returns to Allen Arena March 4-7.

Baseball to play national champions Fresno State
The Lipscomb baseball team has scheduled a four-game series at Fresno State for the 2009 season, coach Jeff Forehand announced Friday. Lipscomb will play the College World Series Champions on March 27, a double-header on March 28, and another game on March 29.

Volleyball picked highest ever in preseason poll
The Lady Bisons were picked 2nd in the Atlantic Sun preseason poll, the conference office announced Thursday. Sophomore setter Jake Pease was named to the All-Conference team. The Lady Bisons open their season August 29th versus Indiana State in Morehead, Ky.

Dedrick signs with Brewers to play professional baseball
Wayne Dedrick has decided to pursue a professional baseball career. Dedrick, the 30th round selection of the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft, signed a contract with the club Thursday morning. Dedrick had previously signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Lipscomb University.

Harston Wins Tennessee PGA Senior Section Championship
Lipscomb University golf coach Buddy Harston picked up a $1,500 check and berth in the Senior PGA Professionals National Championship with a sudden death win in the Callaway Golf Tennessee PGA Professionals Senior Section Championship at the Governor’s Club in Brentwood, Tenn.
