Andy Lane

Andy Lane serves as Associate Athletic Director for Development where he is responsible for all Athletic Development initiatives including the oversight of the Athletic portion of Lipscomb's current development campaign, Lipscomb Next 2016. Andy has been a consistent face around Lipscomb and the Nashville sports community for many years.

A 1987 graduate of Lipscomb, Andy is in his 25th year working with the Lipscomb Department of Athletics. From 1987-1991, Andy served as the school's Assistant Sports Information Director and in 1991 was named Director of Sports Information and Media Relations.

During his time in Sports Information he helped Lipscomb garner national exposure with ESPN, CNN, Sports Illustrated and several other national media outlets marketing such stories as:

During his time as Sports Information Director, Andy also served as Conference Information Director for the Tennessee Collegiate Athletic Conference and served as National President of the NAIA District Information Officers.

In 1994, Andy was promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Marketing where he developed numerous successful marketing plans and strategies for the Lipscomb Athletic Department. Andy's duties included the oversight, building and maintaining of Lipscomb athletics communications. Andy also served as Director of the Bison Booster Club where he was responsible for Bison Club functions, promotions, merchandise, apparel, souvenirs and ticket management.

From 1999-2005, Andy served as Associate Director of Athletics for Administration where he was responsible for fundraising. He continued his oversight of the Lipscomb Bison Club, as well as, Season Ticket and Corporate Sponsorship programs.

During the transition to NCAA Division I status, Andy served as one of the directors of the Lipscomb Operation Division I Steering Committee. Under Andy's leadership Bison Club membership, Season Ticket and Corporate Sponsorship programs sales reached all-time highs.

Andy was also responsible for securing the major financial gifts of Draper Diamond Softball Field and Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium. Andy's additional duties as Associate Athletic Director included the oversight of Athletic Marketing, Sports Information, Corporate Sponsorships, Suite Holder Accounts, as well as Athletic Radio and Television broadcasts. Andy was instrumental in the oversight, creation and marketing of the new NCAA Athletic Logo and Lipscomb's athletic website, Lipscombsports.com.

From 2005-2009 Andy moved into event management where he served as Assistant Director of Athletics directing game management of Lipscomb's seventeen NCAA Division I intercollegiate spots. Additional duties included promotion and implementation of the Bison Club, Season Ticket programs, Bison Radio Network and A-Sun Television along with oversight of Summer Camps. Andy also served as Tournament Director for numerous Lipscomb-hosted events including the 2007 Atlantic Sun Cross Country Championships, the 2008 and 2009 Atlantic Sun Men's and Women's Basketball Championships in Allen Arena, the 2010 and 2011 Atlantic Sun Baseball Championships at Dugan Field, the 2011 and 2012 Atlantic Sun Volleyball Championships.  Andy will also serve as tournament director for the 2013 and 2014 Atlantic Sun Sofball Championships at Draper Diamond.

From 1987-1991, Andy served as Assistant Baseball Coach under the legendary Ken Dugan. Andy's group of recruits helped lead the Bisons to the District 24 Championship and the NAIA National Playoffs. In 1995, Andy helped launch the Lipscomb University Softball program, serving as Head Coach from 1995-1999 and again from 2003-2005. Andy finished as the program's winningest coach, winning an average of 32 games a season including school records of 49, 46 and 45 wins from 1997-1999. Andy led the program to four Conference Championships and two National Tournament appearances, while producing 31 All-Conference players, 17 All-Region Players and six All-American Players as well as 36 All-Conference and National Scholar Athletes.

Andy also has been instrumental in forming and cultivating ongoing relationships between Lipscomb University and the Nashville Sports Council, as well as the Special Olympic Organization that holds yearly events on the Lipscomb campus. Andy was also selected to represent Lipscomb on the Nashville Area Sports Leaders Council.

Andy and his wife Stephanie (Shouse) have one daughter, LeEllen. Stephanie was an outstanding tennis player for the Lady Bison program, where she was named the James R. Byers Award winner and in 2004 was inducted into the Lipscomb Athletic Hall of Fame.
