Dr. Lin Garner serves as the Associate Athletic Director for Academics and Senior Woman Administrator. She oversees academic support and other services for student athletes. Dr. Garner is also a professor of English at Lipscomb University.

A native of Little Rock, Arkansas, Dr. Garner graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1972. She then went on to receive her undergraduate degree from Harding University in 1975. Two years later she earned an M.A. from the University of Mississippi. Ten years later in 1987 she received her Ph.D. in English from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

In 1987, Dr. Garner was hired as a full-time professor in the Lipscomb English Department and remained a full-time English professor until 2000. From 1998-1999 she served as the Interim Chair of the English Department.

Dr. Garner has achieved numerous awards and distinctions among the academic community. Some of these achievements include: past secretary and president of Tennessee Philological Association; past president of Region III of Alpha Chi Honor Society; published in TPA Bulletin, the University of South Carolina Literary Journal, History of Southern Women's Literature, and Dictionary of American Literary Characters.

Along with her many other duties, Dr. Garner currently serves on the Athlete Advisory Committee and is the sponsor for Lipscomb's chapter of the Alpha Chi Honor Society.

In her spare time, Dr. Garner loves to read, watch movies, and cross-stitch. She enjoys watching Arkansas Razorback football and basketball as well as all the Lipscomb teams. She also enjoys anything related to the Civil War.

Dr. Garner is a proud great aunt and enjoys playing with her nine-year-old great niece Fiona and her three-year-old brother Kai.
