Trevor Garrett was named Associate Athletic Director for External Affairs in October 2011.  In his role, Garrett oversees communications, marketing, promotions and ticket sales for Lipscomb athletics.  Additionally he serves as the editor of LipscombSports.com, director of the Lipscomb Sports Network, and as the primary media contact for the men's basketball program.

Garrett is in his sixth year with the athletics department where he has served as Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs, Director of External Affairs, Athletic Communications Manager and as a media relations student worker.

During Garrett's time at Lipscomb, he has twice overseen the redesign of LipscombSports.com and developed marketing strategies that increased basketball attendance by a third.

He has coordinated the keynote portion of the Don Meyer Evening of Excellence the last two years featuring Tim Tebow and Mike Krzyzewski drawing over 8,000 guests to the Lipscomb campus for two of the largest fundraising events in the university's history.

Garrett served as media coordinator for the 2008 and 2009 Atlantic Sun Men's and Women's Basketball Championships and the 2011 Atlantic Sun Baseball Championship at Lipscomb. He was the statistician for the 2006, 2007, and 2008 Conference USA Men's Basketball Championships hosted by the University of Memphis and he has served as a FIBA statistician for USA Basketball. Garrett served on the communications staff at the 2010 NCAA First and Second Round at Jacksonville.

Garrett has worked the past eight summers as a Pacific Coast League official scorer at the Memphis Redbirds and Nashville Sounds.

In addition to his work in athletics, Garrett has worked on various state and federal political campaigns. In 2009 a direct mail piece that he researched and wrote copy for earned a Pollie Award for best direct mail piece by the American Association of Political Consultants.

A native of Memphis, Tenn., Garrett finished his Master's of Accountancy at Lipscomb in 2010. He earned a bachelor's of business administration from Lipscomb.  An avid slalom skier, Garrett can be found on Kentucky Lake nearly every weekend during the summer.

He is a member of the U.S. Basketball Writers Association (USBWA), College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), and National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA).
