Trent Ashcraft enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach in 2012. 

Ashcraft was an assistant coach at Young Harris College, a NCAA Division II baseball program.  Responsible for the skill development and on-field instruction of the team’s hitters and outfielders, , the Brentwood native helped coach the Mountain Lions offense that ranked in the top-20 nationally in 15 categories.     

He attended East Carolina University and won a regular season Conference USA championship in 2009 and played in three NCAA Regional Tournaments from 2007-09 and played in one Super Regional in 2009.

During his time at ECU, Ashcraft played in the Cape Cod Baseball League in the summer of 2008 and was named a member of the 2008 All-Cape Cod League Team by the end of the season.  He chose to participate in the 2008 Under Armor-Cape Cod All-Star Game.  He ranked among league leaders in hits (4th), stolen bases (6th), average (7th) and RBI’s (8th). 

Ashcraft spent two seasons playing at Young Harris Junior College and won back-to-back regular-season championships with a compiled record of 89-22.  He had a career batting average of .356, which ranks sixth in school history. 

Ashcraft graduated from ECU with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2009.  He is the brother of current Lipscomb infielder Tyson and former volleyball standout Tory.
