With the 2015 baseball season just three short weeks away, Lipscomb kicked off spring practice with a couple of short intrasquad scrimmages on Saturday. The Bisons will open the season with a 3-game set against Butler on Feb. 13 at 4 p.m.

Lipscomb baseball left Nashville early Friday morning for a week-long mission trip in the Dominican Republic. The Bisons arrived late Friday in time for supper and a greeting with a "ginormous" spider.

On Tuesday Lipscomb head baseball coach Jeff Forehand announced the Bisons’ 2015 schedule, highlighted by four NCAA Tournament teams, two of which will travel to Music City. The 55-game slate features 32 homes games inside Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh Stadium.

The Lipscomb baseball team wrapped up its 2014 Omaha Challenge by naming Dalton Curtis (left) the top pitcher with 490 points, while Lee Solomon (right) and Jonathan Allison (not pictured) were crowned overall co-champions with 531 points each.

It all comes down to Thursday, the final day of competition, to see who gets crowned the 2014 Lipscomb Baseball Omaha Challenge champions. Lee Solomon and Dalton Curtis currently hold a slight lead in their respective groups, while it is Team Hoss holding steady for the team lead.

The Lipscomb baseball team started its annual Omaha Challenge challenge last week with the players competing against one another for the right to be crowned champion. The event consists of 20 individual events and eight team events. There will be two individual winners – one pitcher and one position player.
