NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb baseball team hits the road for the final out-of-town trek on Tuesday night for a midweek rumble with in-state foe Austin Peay in Clarksville at 6 p.m. at Raymond C. Hand Park.
The Bisons (22-25) look to avenge a 12-7 loss to the Governors (28-18) back in March at Dugan Field that saw Lipscomb mount a late comeback but come up short.
“Our coaching staff talked about it today, that we haven’t beaten Austin Peay on the road since we’ve been here,” said Lipscomb head coach Jeff Forehand. “They’re always a good team, whether we play them here or we play them down there.
“We just haven’t had any success against them there for whatever reason. Hopefully we can build on last weekend and have a good performance on Tuesday night.”
Lipscomb junior right-hander Tyler Burstrom (1-0, 2.50 ERA) is slated to make his first career start on Tuesday night. The Govs have not announced a starter for the contest.
Winners of four of the last five contests, the Bisons look to snap a seven-game skid to the Governors that dates back to the 2009 season.
