The Lipscomb Bisons will be out to win the third game of their Atlantic Sun series with boulevard rival Belmont Sunday afternoon at Greer Stadium.

The Bisons will send Josh Smith, 2-2, to the mound against Carlo Testa, 0-1. Game time is 1 p.m.

The Bisons won the first game in the series Friday afternoon, a 4-0 shutout.

Saturday afternoon Belmont evened the series with a 7-4 victory.

The game was scoreless through the first 2 ½ innings before Belmont struck when Kane Simmons homered to right field for a grand slam.

Belmont added another run in the fourth inning and two in the seventh.

The Bisons battled throughout the game.

In the fifth inning Ryan Price led off with a double to left center. Allen Bolden came in to pinch run for Price. Bolden advanced to third when Whit Reed grounded out to the second baseman. Bolden scored on single to center field by Preston Embrey.

In the ninth the Bisons rallied for three runs. Zac Miller led off with a ground rule double to left field that bounced over the first row of fencing. Justin Sanders came in to pinch hit for Jeff Baumgartner and walked. Caleb Joseph reached on a error by the second baseman. Reed then reached on another error by the second baseman, which scored Miller.

Embrey singled to center field. Bolden grounded into a double play, but the Bisons weren't finished yet.

Brewer singled up the middle to score Reed and Joseph.

The Bisons posted even-hit attack. Nathan Sensing, Miller and Ryan Price each had a double.

Matt Schnelly started for the Bisons, pitching seven innings. He gave up nine hits, seven runs, five earned, walked two and struck out five. Brandon McClurg came in to pitch the eighth inning. He gave up one hit, walked a batter and struck out one.

Josh Moffitt pitched 8.2 innings to pick up the win for Belmont.

Belmont committed five errors in the game.
