Florida All-State baseball player will join Bisons

Lipscomb University baseball coach Jeff Forehand announces the signing of Donnie Amos from Davie, Fla.

Amos, 5-foot-9, 185 pounds, played for Nova High School, the Florida State Champions in 2005 and 2004. Amos was the winning pitcher in the 2005 State Championship game.

Amos was an All-State selection in 2006 and 2005. He named to the All-Region team in 2004, 2005 and 2006.

In 2006 he served as captain of the Nova baseball team. He was also named MVP of the LaGrange Invitational Tournament.

In 2006 Amos excelled at the plate with a .436 batting average. He drove in 36 runs, scored 33 times and collected 34 hits, including seven home runs, seven doubles and one triple.

In 2005 and 2006 Amos combined for a 14-1 record with a 1.60 earned run average.

Amos was named a Scholar-Athlete in baseball in 2005 and 2006. He graduated from high school with honors.

His parents are Lee and Doug Amos.
