The right-handed infielder, who primarily plays shortstop and third base, will transfer from South Florida Community College where he plays for head coach Rick Hitt.

After college Gooch, a communications major, hopes to continue his baseball career at the professional level or join the United States Marine Corps.

Gooch chose to attend Lipscomb for the facilities, atmosphere, and the opportunity to play for a great coach.

"I am very excited to receive the opportunity to play for a great coach and a great program where I feel we will succeed," Gooch said. "I look forward to great success and hope I can help the team."
