Brothers, Joseph earn preseason honors from Collegiate Baseball

Lipscomb pitcher Rex Brothers and catcher Caleb Joseph have both been honored by Collegiate Baseball magazine.

Brothers, a sophomore left-hander from Chapel Hill, Tenn., was projected as Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Year. Brothers was the Freshman of the Year in the A-Sun last season, posting a 7-4 record and 3.51 earned run average.

Joseph, a senior from Franklin, Tenn., was projected as Atlantic Sun Player of the Year. He batted .335 last season with eight home runs, 25 doubles and 48 runs batted in.

Joseph was an All-Star this past summer in the Cape Cod League. Brothers also was impressive as a pitcher as a late season addition.

The Bisons were projected to finish fifth in the conference. They finished eighth last season.
