Final Stats

The Bisons could not hold on to an early 5-0 lead, as they were defeated by North Florida, 9-7 on Sunday.

The Bisons wasted no time getting on the board, scoring four runs in the first. Allen Bolden got Lipscomb started, drilling his first homer of the season, a two-run shot to right field. Justin Sanders added to the Bisons lead with an RBI double. Shane Simpkins completed the innings scoring, with an RBI single of his own.

The Bisons added another run in the second on an RBI sacrifice fly by Caleb Joseph.

The Ospreys pulled to within one with two runs in the third and another two in the fourth.

The Bisons rebounded with a run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Bolden, and another in the seventh on an RBI single by Branden Cadavid.

The Ospreys pulled ahead in the bottom of the seventh, using a five run inning, to drive Bisons' starter, Mike Dunn from the game, prompting head coach, Jeff Forehand, to call on right-hander Josh Smith. Smith was unable to record an out in the inning, giving up three runs, one earned, on two hits.

In 6.1 innings of work, Dunn gave up six runs, four earned, while striking out three, in the no-decision. Smith recorded the loss to drop his record to 0-2.

Three Bisons' had a multi-hit game, with Jorge Guiterrez recording three, and Bolden and Sanders had two each.

With the loss the Bisons dropped their record to 4-5, and 3-3 in conference play. Lipscomb returns to action when they take on Austin Peay in a single game on Tuesday, March 11.
