Bisons Set For Home-Opener On Friday

After beginning the 2008 season with twelve road games, the Bisons return home this weekend to take on Jacksonville University in a three game series, kicking off on Friday, March 14, at 6 p.m.

The Bisons, so far this season, have been an offense driven team, with five starters batting over .300 led by Caleb Joseph (.377), Jorge Gutierrez (.367), Blake Bratcher (.333), Allen Bolden (.311), and Ben Williams (.306).

Left-hander, Rex Brothers is expected to get the series opening start on Friday. So far this season, Brothers is 1-2 with an ERA of 6.00. In 18 innings, he has given up 13 runs, 12 earned on 22 hits while striking out 19.

On Saturday, right-hander, Brandon McClurg is expected to receive his first start of the season. On the season, McCclurg is 1-0 with a 3.27 ERA. In 11 innings, he has given up 4 runs, on 12 hits, while striking out six.

Finally, on Sunday, left-hander, Mike Dunn, is set to take the mound in the series finale at 1 p.m. Dunn is 1-0 this season with a 4.79 ERA. In 20.2 innings of work, he has given up 13 runs, 11 earned, on 23 hits.

The Bisons are sitting at 5-7 heading into the series, with a 3-3 conference record.
