Former Lipscomb University outfielder Casey Bond was promoted to the Fresno Grizzlies, AAA affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, Monday.
Bond played his senior year at Lipscomb in 2007 after transferring from Birmingham-Southern. He started all 58 games for the Bisons batting .326 with four home runs and 24 stolen bases.
Bond was selected in the 25th round of the 2007 Major League Baseball amateur draft. Following the draft, he was assigned to San Francisco's short-season rookie team in the Arizona Fall League.
Bond was added to Fresno's roster from extended spring training to fill an open roster spot. He was 0-1 as a pinch hitter in his first AAA appearance.
