DELAND, Fla. _ The Lipscomb Bisons will play Belmont Thursday afternoon at 2 here at Melching Field at Conrad Park.

Belmont, the No.3 seed, lost 9-7 to Gardner-Webb, the No. 4 seed, in 10 innings Wednesday afternoon in the second game of the Atlantic Sun Conference Baseball Championship.

Belmont lost for the first time in their opening game of the A-Sun Tournament. Last season they advanced to the championship game, finishing as runner-up.

The Bisons, the No.1 seed, beat Campbell 14-0 in the first game of the tournament. This was the first time the Bisons have won an A-Sun Tournament game after losing twice last season.

Lipscomb coach Jeff Forehand plans to send right-hander Brandon McClurg to the mound.

The Bisons opened the A-Sun portion of the schedule with three games against Belmont. They lost the first game 5-2 on March 1 in the first game of a doubleheader and came back to win the nightcap 12-7. The Bisons won the series with a 7-2 win March 2.

Belmont is 23-32 overall. The Bisons are 29-27.
