Despite 20 runs from 22 hits, the Bisons couldn’t pull off a win in Murfreesboro tonight against MTSU.

With a game that lasted over five hours and went into 12 innings, Lipscomb had the eighth win of their season in sight.

With Lipscomb ahead by five going into the bottom of the ninth, MTSU used five hits to get five runs across the plate and knot the game at 20-20.

In a game that saw ten total homeruns, there was one that stands out in everyone’s head.

Blue Raider Zach Hudson homered in the bottom of the 12th inning to end the game and end the hopes of adding another win to Lipscomb’s record for now.

Although the final outcome was unfavorable for the Bisons, their offense proved to be very much alive.

Ryan Wilkins led the Bisons’ lineup and went 4 for 5 on the night, including two homeruns, a double and five RBI.

Tyler Wilson was 4 for 7 with a homerun, a double and three RBI. Andrew Nickerson was 3 for 5 with a double and two RBI. Ricky Coleman went 3 for 5 with a homerun, triple, and two RBI.

Zach Messer and Cory Hale each added two hits for the Bisons.

Eight pitchers saw time on the mound for Lipscomb, with Chad Fromm (1-4) picking up the loss.

The Bisons are now 7-18 on the season and 2-4 in conference play.

MTSU improves to 16-9.

The Bisons come back home this weekend, as they take on Illinois State in a nonconference three-game series Friday at 6 p.m. and then Saturday at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.  You can listen live on Lipscombsports.com.
