Bisons will face Tennessee Vols
Weather permitting the Lipscomb Bisons will host the Tennessee Vols Wednesday night at 6 at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen Lee Marsh Stadium.

Lipscomb left-hander Chris Nunn (1-1, 3.72 earned run average) will face Tennessee right-hander Jon Reed (1-0, 4.50). The Bisons are 7-13 overall. The Vols are 16-4.

Pitcher Chad Fromm will present a testimonial at 5:15.

Nunn will face a challenge. The Vols rank first in the Southeastern Conference in batting average (.334), on base percentage (.427), slugging percentage (.492), hits (222) and home runs (17). They are second in runs scored (153) and runs batted in (144).

The Vols hold a 7-1 overall record over Lipscomb. Last year Tennessee won 16-7. In 2009 they took a 17-3 victory.

The only time the Bisons have beaten Tennessee is 2008 a 6-4 win.

Richie Goodenow leads the Bisons in most categories offensively with a .406 batting average, .580 slugging percentage, .462 on base percentage, 28 hits and 13 RBI.

Goodenow brings a nine-game hitting streak into the Tennessee game. Josh Chism has an eight-game streak.

This will be the third and last Southeastern Conference team the Bisons will face this season. They are 0-4 against the SEC this season with three losses to Ole Miss and one to Mississippi State.

The Bisons will head to Jacksonville, Fla. This weekend for a three-game Atlantic Sun series Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
