NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In addition to the trio of high school pitchers announced last week, the Lipscomb baseball team adds two more prepsters to the 2014 roster as Cameron Bair and Hunter Hanks have signed national letters of intent.
After hitting .380 as a junior, Hanks was named to the Times Union All-First Coast team. The middle infielder from Macclenny, Fla., added eight doubles, 20 RBI and 26 runs scored last season for Baker County High School. Along with solid offensive stats, Baker committed only three errors last season at shortstop for the Wildcats.
“Hunter is an extremely athletic middle infielder,” said Lipscomb head coach Jeff Forehand. “His addition gives us another quality defender with top of the lineup speed. As Hunter gets stronger physically, his talent is limitless.”
An all-district standout for Columbia Central High School, Bair will join the cast of Lipscomb backstops.
“Cameron is an extremely talented and physical catcher,” said Forehand. “It has been a pleasure watching him develop over his high school career. His left-handed bat and ability to play first base gives him an opportunity to contribute early in his career.”
