Cy Young winner Dickey to headline luncheon

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fresh off winning the 2012 National League Cy Young Award, New York Mets knuckleballer R.A. Dickey is set to be the guest of honor at the combined “Forehand and Friends/Golden Bisons” luncheon on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 11:30 a.m. at Allen Arena on the Lipscomb University campus.

Finishing the 2012 season with a 20-6 mark on the hill and a 2.73 ERA, Dickey was honored as the top pitcher in the N.L. on Nov. 14 after earning a National League All-Star nod and being named National League Pitcher of the Month for the month of June.

Dickey is slated to talk about the incredible 2012 season as well as his offseason including his climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro. He will also have copies of his book “Wherever I Wind Up: My Quest for Truth, Authenticity and the Perfect Knuckleball” for sale.
