NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb baseball team is set to make the short trek up interstate 65 to take on Western Kentucky in Bowling Green, Ky. on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
Having dropped four-straight contests on the road, the Bisons (7-14) look to snap the skid with a victory against the Hilltoppers (10-9), who are 9-4 at Nick Denes Field.
Lipscomb redshirt junior Jacob Knott is set to make his fifth start of the season. The righty heads into the nonconference tilt with a 1-2 record and a 4.76 ERA. Knott has tossed 22.2 innings this spring for the Bisons allowing just two extra-base hits and notching 17 strikeouts.
Western Kentucky has not announced who will start the game.
Senior shortstop Aaron Sandoval leads Lipscomb with a .329 average at the plate. Fellow senior Zach Lowery paces LU with 16 RBIs through the first 21 games.
Following the trip to Bowling Green, the Bisons open Atlantic Sun Conference play this weekend hosting North Florida in the three-game series that starts on Friday night.
