MACON, Ga. – After leading the Lipscomb baseball team to a 4-1 week, senior outfielder Jonathan Allison has been named an Atlantic Sun Conference Co-Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Allison hit .526 on the week with nine RBI, one double and a home run as the Bisons downed Belmont and Middle Tennessee in midweek contests before taking 2-of-3 from Georgetown over the weekend. The Nashville native slugged .737 and had an on-base percentage of .583 after drawing four walks.
He finished the five-game stretch 10-for-19 at the plate while also scoring six runs and swiping four bags.
Through Sunday’s game, Allison has now hit safely in eight-straight games. He leads the team with 12 multiple hit games and has also recorded multiple RBI in nine.
Allison leads the A-Sun with a .495 on-base percentage this season and ranks second in batting average, raking .402. He has drawn 17 free passes on the season, the third most in the conference.
The award marks the first career weekly honor for Allison.
Lipscomb returns to action on Tuesday when it travels up the street to Belmont for the second edition of the Battle of the Boulevard in the past week. First pitch at Rose Park is scheduled to be thrown at 5 p.m.
