MACON, Ga. – Following an impressive outing on the mound Sunday against Florida Gulf Coast, Lipscomb baseball hurler Brady Puckett was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
Puckett and the entire Lipscomb pitching staff was fantastic in a road sweep of FGCU as the Bisons held the Eagles to only two runs in 27 innings.
He completed the sweep with a two-hit outing on Sunday while cruising through a career-high eight scoreless innings of work. The towering freshman fanned five batters with two walks allowed in 105 pitches to place Lipscomb alone in second place in the A-Sun.
Puckett improved to 5-2 on the year with the win.
The honor marks the third consecutive week and the fifth time this season a Bison pitcher brought home the award.
Lipscomb returns to action Tuesday when Western Kentucky visits Dugan Field in a 6 p.m. midweek tilt.
