MACON, Ga. – For the second time in three weeks Lipscomb baseball’s Jeffrey Passantino has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday.
The freshman tossed eight scoreless innings Saturday in a win over Stetson to improve to 3-1 on the year.
He allowed just four hits with no walks and seven punch outs, holding the Hatters to a .143 batting average.
The Fort Myers, Florida native now has thrown 18 consecutive scoreless innings dating back to his start against Kennesaw State on April 25.
Passantino lowered his ERA to 2.29, which is third-best in the A-Sun. He also ranks third averaging 9.33 strikeouts per nine innings pitched.
This marks the fourth straight A-Sun Pitcher of the Week award for the Lipscomb pitching staff.
The Bisons return to action Tuesday when Austin Peay visits Dugan Field for a 6 p.m. midweek tilt.
