NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lipscomb baseball head coach Jeff Forehand has added another big bat to the lineup for the 2015 season with the signing of infielder Tyler Brown.
A 2014 Louisville Slugger All-American at Dyer County High School, Brown led the state of Tennessee with 68 hits this past spring as a senior. The Friendship native was also a 2014 first-team selection to the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association All-State team.
“Tyler is an outstanding addition to one of the best signing classes in school history,” said Forehand. “He is a fine young man on top of being an outstanding player. He will bring a lot of versatility to the field with the chance to play at several positions.
“We look forward to seeing him have a great impact at Lipscomb both on and off the field.”
Brown hit .489 during his final season with the Choctaws including 22 doubles en route to his postseason honors. The scholar-athlete also worked hard in the classroom at DCHS graduating with a 4.0 and finishing in the top 10 percent of his graduating class.
