Martinez-McGraw named A-Sun Pitcher of the Week

MACON, Ga. – After helping the Lipscomb baseball team to a three-game sweep of Butler in the season opener,  Ian Martinez-McGraw has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced by the league on Monday.

Martinez-McGraw was nearly unhittable on Friday afternoon as he limited the Bulldogs to only two hits in six innings of work.

The Pueblo, Colorado native tossed 80 pitches and allowed one unearned run and struck out two batters as he picked up his first win of the season after setting the school’s NCAA record for wins in a season in 2014 with nine.

The award is Martinez-McGraw’s first career weekly honor.

The Bisons hit the road to Middle Tennessee on Tuesday for a midweek nonconference tilt at 3 p.m. before returning home this weekend to co-host the Mule Mix Classic that brings Western Illinois, Valparaiso and Ohio to Music City.
