MACON, Ga. – Lipscomb baseball hurler Nick Andros took home the Atlantic Sun Conference’s Pitcher of the Week honor after a dominating performance on the mound in Saturday’s 7-3 win over Alabama in Mobile.
The Tunnell Hill, Illinois native fell behind after surrendering two early runs, but the senior locked in and sat down 15 of his final 19 batters faced to get his first win of the season (1-0).
Andros worked a career-best seven innings for the Bisons, allowing just two runs on six hits and only walking one batter.
The 6-foot-6 southpaw recorded a season high seven strikeouts. That total was the second most of his career.
Andros tossed 110 pitches in the outing, which is a career best.
This honor is Andros’ first-career A-Sun weekly award.
Lipscomb returns to action on Tuesday when it travels to Cookeville to take on Tennessee Tech at 3 p.m.
