NASHVILLE – The Lipscomb baseball team kicked off its first intrasquad scrimmage on Thursday with a little red, white and blue flavor.

The Bisons were joined by Lt. Trey Robinson and Lt. Sean Bowser, U.S. Air Force flight commanders of the 237th Intelligence Squadron. Robinson and Bowser each spoke to the team about what it means to serve for their country and why proper respect should be shown during the national anthem.

“I wanted our guys to know more about it and what it means to stand for the flag and for the song that we play at the beginning of every game,” Lipscomb head coach Jeff Forehand said. “For a few years now, Trey has been gracious enough to come out and speak to our team. He always tries to bring someone with him to give them a chance to share what this experience means.”

The servicemen also showed the team the correct way to stand at attention.
