Silent Auction headlines Baseball's 2nd Annual First Pitch Dinner

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb baseball program will hold its 2nd Annual First Pitch Dinner Saturday, Feb. 13 on campus inside McQuiddy Gymnasium. The event, which will include a silent auction, is set to get underway at 6:30 p.m.

While no purchase of tickets is required for the dinner, guests are encouraged to make a minimum $25 donation as all proceeds from the annual fundraiser will go to support the Lipscomb Baseball Bullpen Club.

“We are looking forward to the dinner Saturday night so that we will have a chance to introduce our team and coaching staff to the fans in attendance,” Lipscomb head coach Jeff Forehand said. “This year’s event will be unique because we are also going to be trying to raise a few dollars through an auction-style fundraiser.

“These proceeds will go towards us being able to complete a few more enhancements to Dugan Field before we host the Atlantic Sun Tournament in May. We want to encourage the fans to come out and to also bring a friend. We cannot wait to be able to meet and greet with every one of them as we are about to get ready to kick off 2016.”

The night’s festivities will feature a formal introduction of the players and staff as well as Coach Forehand speaking to those in attendance about what is to be expected in the upcoming season.

The silent auction will boast an impressive lineup of signed sports memorabilia ranging from the likes of R.A. Dickey, Caleb Joseph and Rex Brothers to Rollie Fingers, Nolan Ryan, Carlton Fisk, Wade Boggs and plenty more.

Other items up for grab will be numerous travel packages, including a week-long vacation rental in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. There will also be a few experience packages that include a trip to Universal Studios and tickets for an Orlando Magic game, as well as tickets to Tennessee Volunteers, Ohio State Buckeyes and Vanderbilt Commodores football games.

There will also be a few surprise items given to each person in attendance.

For those not able to attend the dinner, but are interested in making a gift to the Lipscomb baseball program, you can make a donation online at http://www.lipscomb.edu/bballgift.

To give by check, please make it payable to Lipscomb Baseball and mail to Lipscomb Athletics c/o Andy Lane at One University Park Drive, Nashville, TN 37204.
