MACON, Ga. – After an impressive weekend performance on the mound Lipscomb's Brady Puckett was chosen as the Atlantic Sun Baseball Pitcher of the Week, announced Monday by the league office.
The 6-foot-8 sophomore helped the Bisons to a 3-1 week with a dominating pitching performance on Sunday afternoon to earn his second career A-Sun Pitcher of the Week honor.
The Murfreesboro native tossed seven shutout innings to improve to 2-0 with a 1-0 win against Western Michigan. Puckett tallied a career-high seven strikeouts in the outing while allowing just five hits and surrendering his first walk of the season. He limited the Broncos to a .200 batting average.
Puckett was also honored by D1Baseball.com Sunday, selected as one of the nation’s top pitchers for Feb. 28.
The Bisons are back in action Tuesday at 4 p.m., weather permitting, when Middle Tennessee ventures to Ken Dugan Field.
