Baseball set to host Middle Tennessee in midweek tilt

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb baseball team returns to action Tuesday when it plays host to Middle Tennessee at 4 p.m. on Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh Stadium.

The Bisons (5-2) just wrapped a weekend sweep of a trio of teams in the Mule Mix Classic.

Freshman right hander Adam Stewart will get the nod on the mound for the Bisons. His only career action was a relief appearance against the Blue Raiders last Tuesday. This will be his first career start.

He will face lefty Jack Wyrick of Middle. Wyrick started the midweek tilt last week between the two rivals.

  • Center fielder Michael Gigliotti will bring a 39-game on-base streak into the contest.
  • First baseman Adam Lee is tied for the Atlantic Sun lead with nine RBI.
  • Second baseman Lee Solomon is tops in the league in both walks (9) and stolen bases (4).
  • Sunday starter Brady Puckett was named A-Sun Pitcher of the Week for his seven-inning shutout effort against Western Michigan. He allowed no runs on five hits while striking out a career high seven batters.
  • Head coach Jeff Forehand won his 250th career game as the skipper of the Bisons program.


Up Next:

Lipscomb will travel to Bowling Green, Kentucky to take on the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky Wednesday at 3 p.m. It will mark the only two-game midweek slate of the season.
