MACON, Ga. – After an impressive performance on the mound against Eastern Michigan Sunday, Brady Puckett has been named an Atlantic Sun Conference Co-Pitcher of the week, as announced by the league on Monday.
Puckett was nearly unhittable on Sunday afternoon as he limited the Eagles to only three hits and one run in a complete-game win. The Murfreesboro native faced just four batters above the minimum and struck out five without allowing a walk. He only allowed two runners to reach scoring position all afternoon.
The complete game was the third of his career after doing so against Middle Tennessee and North Florida as a freshman.
The 6-foot-8 righty retired 20 of the first 21 batters he faced, including the first 12, on his way to picking up his fourth win, tying teammate Jeffrey Passantino for the A-Sun lead.
He lowered his ERA to 2.31 and is tied for seventh in the league with 27 fanned batters.
Puckett has now picked up two A-Sun Pitcher of the Week honors this season to give him three for his short career.
The Bisons make the quick trip up the road to Belmont on Tuesday at 5 p.m. before returning home to host Mississippi Valley State for a three-game series beginning on Friday at Ken Dugan Field at Stephen L. Marsh Stadium.
