Baseball's 3rd Annual First Pitch Dinner headlined by Dickey, Auction

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb baseball program will hold its 3rd Annual First Pitch Dinner, headlined by Atlanta Braves pitcher R.A. Dickey, Saturday, Jan. 28 on campus inside Allen Arena. The doors will open at 5 p.m. before the program, which include both a live and silent auction, gets under way at 6.

While no purchase of tickets are required for the dinner, guests are encouraged to make donations to the program. Tables are also available with the player or coach of your choosing for $1,000.

“Our leadoff dinner and auction has turned into a really good event for us,” Lipscomb head coach Jeff Forehand said. “We have over 100 items up for grabs in the auction this year, including a few bigger items that will be sold through a live auction.

“Not only do we have things for baseball fans, but there are also plenty of non-baseball related items for the average person. We encourage everyone to come out, eat some good food, hear R.A. speak and have a good time.”

The night’s festivities will also feature a formal introduction of the players and staff as well as Coach Forehand speaking to those in attendance about what is to be expected in the upcoming season.

The silent auction will boast an impressive lineup of signed sports memorabilia ranging from the likes of R.A. Dickey, Caleb Joseph and Rex Brothers to Rollie Fingers, Al Kaline, Dansby Swanson, Ryne Sandberg, Mookie Betts, Butch Jones, John Smoltz, Todd Helton and plenty more.

Other items up for grab will be numerous travel and experience packages that include a trip to Universal Studios and tickets for an Orlando Magic game, as well as tickets to a Luke Bryan concert, an Atlanta Braves game, an Ohio State Buckeyes football game, the College World Series, Nashville Predators versus the Chicago Blackhawks and more.

For those not able to attend the dinner, but are interested in making a gift to the Lipscomb baseball program, you can make a donation online at

To give by check, please make it payable to Lipscomb Baseball and mail to Lipscomb Athletics c/o Andy Lane at One University Park Drive, Nashville, TN 37204.
