Baseball Inks Eight In Early Signing Period

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Lipscomb baseball program and head coach Jeff Forehand announced Thursday the signing of eight student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2019 season.

Forehand, who is entering his 12th season at the helm of the Bisons, has always found success in getting talent from outside Tennessee, and this class is no different.  None of the eight signees are from the Volunteer State. Two are products of Georgia, while the others are from Texas, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Alabama and Missouri.

After the Bisons signed four southpaws for 2018, it was only fair that Forehand go to the other side in this class in order to bolster the staff. Five of the eight are right-handed pitchers, two are outfielders and another is a catcher and second baseman.

“I am very excited to announce and welcome our next class to Lipscomb,” Forehand said. “This class is pitcher heavy. After losing a big portion of our staff this past season, we had to make pitching a priority and I think we did a really nice job of loading up.

“These guys are a tremendous group and our staff recognized them all as great fits to our team and our program. We are thankful for them joining our family and I can’t wait to get them to campus.”

Below is a breakdown of the newest additions to the Bisons, with comments on each from Coach Forehand.
