LakePoint, Ga. - The ASUN Conference recognized its 2017-18 Spring Winners for Life team on Thursday, and recently graduated Lipscomb baseball player Lee Solomon was named one of the honorees.
The team is comprised of one student-athlete from each of the eight institutions from the 2017-18 academic year and honors those who display excellence on and off the playing surface.
A three-time ASUN Baseball All-Academic Team selection, Solomon recently wrapped up his Lipscomb career with a degree in Law, Justice and Society with a 3.61 GPA. He earned acceptance into Ohio State University's Law School, but has deferred his admission for two years after he was selected in the 25th Round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the San Diego Padres.
Solomon's leadership skills are on full display with his role as a member of Lipscomb University's President Ambassador Council, serving as the Baseball program's representative to SAAC and capping his career as the captain for the 2018 baseball season.
The ASUN's other honorees included FGCU baseball's Mario Leon, Jacksonville's women's lacrosse's Ashtyn Hiron, Kennesaw State track and field's Aliyah Whisby, NJIT baseball's Jesse Uttendorfer, North Florida track and field's Fynn Timm, Stetson baseball's Brooks Wilson, and USC Upstate softball's Brittany Case
The Winners for Life team honors a campus citizen that is respected as one who shares and/or demonstrates the ASUN Core Values: Education, Honesty, Student-Athlete Experience, Fairness, Health, Ambition, Respect, Diversity, Inclusion, Leadership, Responsibility, and Sportsmanship. To be eligible for the award, the student-athlete must have competed in the current academic year in an ASUN sponsored sport and be in good academic standing at his/her university.
