NASHVILLE – Lipscomb baseball and head coach Jeff Forehand announced it will play five games as part of its 2018 fall schedule. The Bisons prepare for their 2019 season with a pair of exhibition games as well as the team's annual Purple and Gold World Series.
Lipscomb opens up the exhibition slate Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Ken Dugan Field when Columbia State visits for two 7-inning games beginning at 4:30 p.m.
After getting a two-week break, the Bisons will kick off their annual Purple and Gold World Series Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m. Game two will be played Oct. 18 at 3:30 p.m., followed by the series finale on Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. The winners of the series gets to eat steak, while the losers eat hot dogs.
The Bisons will conclude its fall season on Wednesday, Oct. 24 when Belmont makes the short trek up Granny White Pike. First pitch with the Bruins at Dugan Field is set for 4:30 p.m.
The complete 2019 schedule will be released later this year.

Oct. 3 – Columbia State – 4:30 p.m.
Oct. 17 - Purple and Gold WS Game 1 - 3:30 p.m.
Oct. 18 – Purple and Gold WS Game 2 – 3:30 p.m.
Oct. 20 – Purple and Gold WS Game 3 – 11:00 a.m.
Oct. 24 – Belmont (Scout Day) – 4:30 p.m.
Another key day to remember is Oct. 19 for baseball’s 13th annual Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament at the Gaylord Springs Golf Links. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m., following by a shotgun start at 8. Immediately after the conclusion of play, lunch will be served and the awards ceremony will commence.
All alumni and fans are also encouraged to meet at Dugan Field for Alumni batting practice after lunch. This year’s event will also serve as a reunion of 2008 ASUN Championship team.
Entry into the tournament, including lunch and gift bags, golf hat, and team issued hoodie, cost $200 per individual. There are also numerous sponsorship opportunities listed below if you can't make it and want to support the program
All proceeds will go towards helping the Lipscomb Baseball program.
