Baseball inks 12 in early signing period

NASHVILLE - The Lipscomb baseball program and head coach Jeff Forehand are excited to announce the signing of 12 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent for the 2020 season.

Forehand is now entering his 13th season as the head coach for Lipscomb and has once again gotten a diverse class of student-athletes to join the Bisons baseball team. The list of players come from all over the United States as well as one player who calls Canada home.

Below is a breakdown of the newest additions to the Bisons.

 

2019 SIGNING CLASS:
 

Trey Ziegenbein / RHP / R/R / 6-3 / 155 / Blue Springs, Missouri (Johnson County CC)

  • 2nd team All-Conference Outfielder in 2015
  • Captain of soccer team in 2015
  • Lettered four years in baseball and three years in soccer
  • Favorite TV show is “The Office”
  • Favorite professional athlete is Nathan Eovaldi
  • Person his admires most is his sister
  • Has been playing the piano since he was eight years old

 

Dylan Bierman / RHP / R/R / 6-3 / 215 / Tulsa, Oklahoma (Johnson County CC)

  • Baseball state champion in 2017
  • Metro Christian pitcher of the year in 2016 and 2017
  • All-State and All-Region honorable mention
  • Captain of baseball and football teams his senior year
  • High school pitching record of 25-3 with a .90 ERA
  • Passed for over 2,800 yards and 38 touchdowns in football
  • Plans to major in Business Accounting

Malik Williams / 1B/3B / R/R / 6-4 / 225 / Toronto, Ontario (Johnson County CC)

  • NJCAA D1 All-American in 2018
  • KJCCC All-Region in 2018
  • Hit .397 with 17 home runs, 15 doubles, 89 hits and 78 RBI as a freshman at Johnson County Community College
  • Also recruited by Kentucky, TCU and Indiana
  • Plans to major in Business
  • His brother, Joshua, played baseball at Arkansas Pine Bluff and professionally in the Frontier League

Patrick Williams / RHP / R/R / 6-9 / 215 / Cleveland, Tennessee (Cleveland High School)
