[quote]To me being a Lipscomb coach means you get a chance to work with some of the greatest people the world has to offer,[quote] Ryman said. [quote]Baseball is just a game in the grand scheme of things.
[quote]If I can help these guys be classy, respectful, and hardworking gentlemen both on and off the field, then there is no way that they can[apos]t have very success filled lives.[quote]
Ryman was born on May 30, 1980, and is a graduate of Jefferson County High School. Ryman attended Hiwassee College in Madisonville, Tenn., where he pitched for the baseball team and was a member of Who[apos]s Who Among American College Students.
Ryman spent the next four years as a student assistant at the University of Tennessee. During his time with the Vols, the baseball team went to three SEC tournaments, three regions, one super regional, and the College World Series.
As Director of Baseball Operations, some of Ryman[apos]s duties included field maintenance, equipment, assisting in recruiting, mental and video training, and camp director.
Ryman also worked as head coach of the Nashville Navigators.
Baseball has always played a big role in Ryman[apos]s life as his father is a scout for the Pirates, and his brother was a baseball player at Carson-Newman College.
[quote]Lipscomb has the potential to be a national powerhouse,[quote] Ryman said. [quote]This won[apos]t happen over night but I do believe that Dr. Lowry and Dr. Potts have laid a foundation in all academic and athletic areas to make it happen! I have been to a lot of schools and Lipscomb is definitely on its way.[quote]
