Willard Collins began working for Lipscomb in 1944. In 1946 he was appointed vice-president and served in that capacity until he became president in 1977. As vice-president and president, he was committed to building a championship athletic program. Lipscomb won individual national championships in golf and track and field, along with two national championships in baseball and one in basketball during the Collins administration. Brother Collins will always be known as the students' president.

Nominate Someone to the Athletic Hall of Fame To nominate an individual for the Lipscomb University Athletic Hall of Fame please forward nomination material to Philip Hutcheson, Lipscomb University Athletics, One University Park Drive, Nashville, Tennessee 37204-3951. The formal deadline for nominations is December 1 of the year prior to induction. To nominate an individual for the Lipscomb University Athletic Hall of Fame please provide as much data as possible in support of your nomination. Nominees must fall into one of three categories with the following criteria taken into consideration:
