Sept. 12, 2006

Summer is over, but that doesn't mean it's time to put away those golf clubs.

Fans of Lipscomb University athletics are invited to enjoy a day of golf, food, fun and fellowship at the 21st annual Lipscomb University Golf Scramble Sept. 25 at Temple Hills Golf Club in Franklin.

Funds raised from the event will be used to provide scholarships for student-athletes participating in Lipscomb's NCAA Division I program.

Individual players can sign up for $160. Teams of four players are $640. Participants receive greens and cart fees, a Lipscomb logo golf shirt, range balls, lunch, beverages throughout the day and an awards dinner featuring a large number of door prizes. Mulligans will be available. There will also be a putting contest.

Hole-in-one prizes include $25,000 in cash and a brand new automobile sponsored by the Beaman Automotive Group.

Sponsors are also needed for the event. Eagle sponsors ($1,500) receive reservations for four players, recognition in the tournament program and at the tournament awards dinner and corporate sponsorship signage on the golf course.

Birdie sponsors ($1,000) will receive reservations for two players and recognition in the tournament program, the awards dinner and corporate sponsorship signage.

Hole sponsors ($250) receive recognition at the tournament awards dinner and corporate signage on the golf course.

The driving range will be open from 11 a.m.-noon. Lunch will be served from 11:30 to 12:15 p.m. The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 12:30. The awards dinner will begin at 6 p.m. or immediately following the completion of play.
