2017 Cheerleader Award Winners Announced

The 2017 cheerleading season drew to a successful close at the annual Cheerleader Awards Dinner hosted by the Athletics Department in the Allen Arena Hall of Fame Room. The season was the second for the coaching staff headed by Pam Pearson and assisted by Valery Parham and Meryl McVicker.

Second-year cheerleader Payton Crider, from Vanleer, Tennessee, captured the evening’s top honor, “The Golden Bison Award,” in voting by the team and endorsed by the coaching staff. She was also chosen as “Best All-Around.”

“Payton is everything a coach can ask for,” added Pearson, who coached at Vanderbilt for 10 years before coming to Lipscomb. “She is our hardest worker, our best student, our most consistent representative. She is dependable, and she is prompt. There are great things in her future.”
