Giving up four runs in the seventh, the Bisons dropped a 4-2 decision to No. 7 seed Kennesaw State on Saturday morning in DeLand, Fla. With the loss, LU finishes the season 25-34.
Lipscomb had two track and field athletes compete on Friday. Both of those athletes moved on in their respective event. Madi Talbert becomes the first Lady Bison to qualify for the NCAA Nationals while Tucker Peabody qualified for the quarterfinal round of the East Region.
The Bisons got 7.2 strong innings from J. Hwang before Tyler Burstrom came on to shut the door against FGCU on Friday morning as the Purple and Golf advances to the next round of the 2013 A-Sun Baseball Championship in DeLand, Fla.
Hwang threw 21 pitches Thursday night before the rain and came back and threw 6.2 innings on Friday to get the win as Lipscomb advances in the Atlantic Sun Tournament.
The Bisons took an early lead on Thursday night before a storm rolled in to DeLand forcing the suspension of the contest until Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. CT Lipscomb leads 3-0 after an inning and a half.
