The Lipscomb Bison celebrated Star Wars night, but the force was not with them. The Bison started out on the wrong foot in the first half and were unable to recover despite a much stronger second half in a 71-59 Atlantic Sun loss to North Florida Saturday night at Allen Arena.

The men's basketball team struggled throughout Monday's game at USC Upstate in Spartanburg eventually falling 61-52. Deonte Alexander and Martin Smith led Lipscomb with 10 points each.

Senior Jordan Burgason drained nine 3-pointers tying his own single-game record and posted a career-high 33 points Saturday afternoon as Lipscomb defeated ETSU 73-65 in Johnson City, Tenn. Lipscomb hit a season-high 15 treys.

The NAIA is celebrating 75 years of basketball history in 2012. Fans are invited to vote on the men's basketball 75th anniversary team. Lipscomb has four former players plus Coach Don Meyer nominated for the team.

Freshman Damarius Smith nailed a 3-pointer with less than a second left in overtime to give the men's basketball team a 104-103 win Monday night against the Stetson Hatters in Allen Arena. Senior Jordan Burgason led Lipscomb with 24 points.
