The men's basketball team begins practice at 6 p.m. Friday evening in preparation for their "foreign tour" to the Dominican Republic Aug. 10-16.
In accordance with NCAA rules, Lipscomb is allowed 10 days of practice prior to the trip. Five of those days will have two-a-day practices. Coach Scott Sanderson has decided to spread the practices over a 12-day period breaking up the practice days with two off days for rest and recovery. The team will also have team bonding and development activities.
The tour is being organized by Score International, a Christian-based sports missionary organization. Lipscomb recently received their schedule for the tour which includes five games against professional teams in the Dominican Republic.
