SMITH - 2
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Following a quick break in action for the Thanksgiving holiday, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team returns to action on Friday afternoon in Oxford, Miss., taking on Ole Miss at 4 p.m. at Tad Smith Coliseum.
The Bisons (2-1) head into the non-conference contest against the Rebels (4-0) on the heels of a 66-62 road win at Gardner-Webb. An LU win would give the Bisons a 2-0 road start for the first time in the NCAA Division I era.
Lipscomb sophomore Malcolm Smith led the way in the win over the Runnin’ Bulldogs with a 22-point, 13-rebound effort, both career highs. The A-Sun leader in rebounding (9.7 rpg), Khion Sankey hauled in 10 more rebounds for the Bisons.
Ole Miss is led by junior guard Marshall Henderson, who is averaging 18.8 points per outing. As a team, the Rebels are averaging a blistering 87.8 points per game, a figure that ranks second in the Southeastern Conference.
