WALTON - 1
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After 28 days on the road, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team finally returns to Allen Arena on Saturday night opening Atlantic Sun Conference play against ETSU at 6:30 p.m.
The Bisons (5-8, 0-2 A-Sun) have spent the past five games on the road including contests at Kentucky and Memphis before opening A-Sun play at North Florida and Jacksonville earlier this week. The Bucs (2-11, 0-0 A-Sun) are looking to snap an eight-game losing streak.
Thanks to a 30-point effort against Jacksonville, Lipscomb redshirt freshman center Stephen Hurt has taken over the scoring lead for the Bisons averaging 12.3 points per game. That figure ranks him second nationally among freshmen centers trailing only Baylor’s Isaiah Austin, who is averaging 14.8 points each night.
Twin brothers Martin and Malcolm Smith continue to average double-digit scoring putting up 12 and 11.5 points per night, respectively. Senior Deonte Alexander rounds out the double-digit scorers with a 10.5 scoring average.
The Bucs are led by Marcus Dubose and Lester Wilson, who are both averaging over 15 points a night.
The game will be joined in progress on 102.5 following the completion of the NFL playoff game. ASun.TV will carry the game from start to finish for free. To purchase tickets, click here.
