NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Supporting a pair of great causes, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team continues home action on Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. hosting Atlantic Sun Conference foe Mercer in a game that is set to air on ESPN3.
Along with joining the LU women’s basketball team in raising awareness and support for the Pat Summitt Foundation with “We Back Pat” night, the Bison coaching staff will don sneakers as part of Coaches vs. Cancer “Suits and Sneakers” game day.
Propelled by his first double-double of the season, sophomore forward Malcolm Smith leads Lipscomb heading into the game against the Bears. After scoring 21 points and adding 12 rebounds in Thursday night’s overtime win over Kennesaw State, Malcolm Smith is averaging 11.9 points per game.
That ranks just ahead of freshman center Stephen Hurt, who averages 11.8 points each night after notching his seventh double-double in the last 11 games with a 12-point, 10-rebound effort.
Averaging only 62.2 points per game, Mercer is led by Travis Smith with a 12.8 points per game average.
Along with airing on ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app, the game will be broadcast on 102.5 The Game. To purchase tickets visit http://www.beherdlu.com
