KENNESAW, Ga. – Looking to clinch a berth in the 2013 Atlantic Sun Conference basketball championship, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team heads to Kennesaw State on Saturday afternoon for the final road contest of the 2012-13 slate.
The Bisons need a win in one of the three remaining regular-season games to clinch a slot in the A-Sun tourney that begins March 6 in Macon, Ga.
Lipscomb will look to senior guard Deonte Alexander to carry the offensive load against the Owls. Alexander leads the Bisons with a 13.4 points per game average overall and 15.7 points per game in league action.
The Bisons will be without the services of sophomore forward Malcolm Smith for the third-straight game due to injury. Malcolm Smith was averaging 12.5 points per game before injuring his knee.
Kennesaw State is paced by Markeith Cummings, who averages a league second-best 16.8 points per night . Cummings did not play in the previous meeting between the two schools do to disciplinary reasons.
