NASHVILLE, Tenn. – With a chance to claim the No. 6 seed of the 2013 Atlantic Sun Tournament that begins next week, the Lipscomb men’s basketball team closes out the 2012-13 regular slate on Saturday night hosting league foe North Florida at 8:15 p.m. at Allen Arena.
The contest features two special events as the Bisons (12-16, 7-10 A-Sun) will honor lone senior Deonte Alexander in a pregame ceremony along with hosting the 2nd-annual Adoption Rally where Lipscomb helps support local families with their adoption process through single-game ticket sales.
Alexander continues to lead Lipscomb in scoring averaging 13.4 points each night. The veteran guard has been a key to the Bisons success in A-Sun play with a 15.5 scoring average against league foes. Following a 20-point effort against Jacksonville on Thursday night, redshirt freshman center Stephen Hurt is now averaging 11.8 points each night to go along with his 8.0 rebounds.
The Ospreys (12-18, 7-10) are led by the tandem of Parker Smith and Travis Wallace. Smith averages 16 points each night just ahead of Wallace’s 14.
