NASHVILLE, Tenn. – On the heels of leading Jackson Prep (Jackson, Miss.) to the Mississippi Association of Independent Schools(MAIS) overall state championship in 2012 and a runner-up finish in 2013, Josh Williams has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Lipscomb men’s basketball program.
Leading the Patriots to a 73-5 record in his two years at Jackson Prep, Williams averaged 16 points and seven rebounds per game under coach David Horner.
“Josh is exactly the kind person and player we need at Lipscomb,” said Lipscomb assistant coach Pete Froedden. “He has an incredible mom and dad and we’re excited to have them as part of the Lipscomb family as well.
“Josh not only can really shoot the ball but also has great passing ability to get his teammates involved. He will represent Lipscomb well and fans will be proud to watch him for years to come.”
The 6-foot-4-inch guard was named the MAIS Boys Player of the Year in 2012 and a two-time conference player of the year in the Magnolia State.
