Lipscomb's Bisons used a 22-point performance from guard Brian Fisk to take a 60-56 Atlantic Sun victory over Campbell University Wednesday night at Carter Gym.
Lipscomb used a strong defensive effort, especially in the second half, to ice the victory. Campbell led 54-51 with5:14 left in the game, but did not score another field goal the rest of the way, missing seven shots from the field and hitting two-of-four shots from the free throw line.
A lay-up by Fisk tied the game at 56-56 with 3:08 remaining. James Poindexter hit a 3-pointer with 26 seconds left, and Brandon Hartwell hit one-of-two free throw attempts to ice the game for the Bisons.
The Bisons led 34-33 at the half.
Neither team shot well from the field. Campbell hit 27 percent (7-of-27). The Bisons were 18-of-49 for a 37 percent success rate.
Poindexter finished with 12 points for the Bisons. Hartwell added 10.
Lipscomb is 7-3 overall, 2-1 in the A-Sun. The seven victories equal the total number of wins for last season.
Campbell slipped to 2-9, 0-4 in the A-Sun.
